Cheesy Sloppy Joe Garlic Toast (Printer-Friendly Version)

Savory ground beef and cheddar served over crisp garlic toast for easy family dinners or parties.

# What You'll Need:

→ Sloppy Joe Mixture

01 - 1 pound ground beef, 80-85% lean
02 - 1 medium yellow onion, diced
03 - 1 cup tomato sauce
04 - 2 tablespoons ketchup
05 - 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
06 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
07 - 1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
08 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
09 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder

→ Garlic Toast and Cheese

10 - 8 slices frozen garlic toast
11 - 2 cups cheddar cheese, freshly shredded

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Heat a large skillet over medium-high. Add ground beef and diced onion, breaking up the meat with a spoon. Cook for about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is fully browned and no pink remains. Drain excess fat from the skillet.
02 - Return the skillet to heat. Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix thoroughly to combine all ingredients. Simmer for 5 to 8 minutes over medium heat until sauce is thickened and rich in flavor.
03 - Arrange frozen garlic toast slices in a single layer on a large baking sheet, spacing evenly for even crisping.
04 - Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C). Spoon an even portion of hot sloppy Joe mixture onto each garlic toast slice. Top each with shredded cheddar cheese. Transfer to oven and bake for 10–15 minutes, until the bread is golden and the cheese is fully melted and bubbling.
05 - Remove from oven and allow to cool briefly before serving. Enjoy while the cheese is gooey and the toast remains crisp.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Brown the beef thoroughly and drain well to avoid a greasy final dish.
02 - Always shred cheese from a block for superior melt and texture.
03 - Cover toasts loosely with foil during baking if cheese begins to brown too quickly.
04 - Leftover filling can be refrigerated up to 3 days or frozen for future meals.
