Crockpot Pork Chops Apples (Printer-Friendly Version)

Tender pork chops with apples, onions, and spices, slow cooked to juicy perfection.

# What You'll Need:

→ Pork Chops

01 - 4 boneless pork chops, approx. 1 inch thick
02 - 1 teaspoon salt
03 - ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
04 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
05 - 1 teaspoon granulated chicken bouillon powder

→ Apple and Onion Mixture

06 - 2 medium Fuji apples, sliced
07 - 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
08 - ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
09 - ½ teaspoon dried thyme
10 - 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
11 - 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
12 - 1 tablespoon brown sugar
13 - ½ cup chicken broth
14 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Pat pork chops dry using paper towels. Season both sides evenly with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and chicken bouillon powder, pressing the seasoning into the meat to enhance flavor penetration.
02 - Place sliced apples and thinly sliced onions in an even layer at the bottom of the slow cooker. Sprinkle ground cinnamon and dried thyme over the mixture to impart warmth and aroma.
03 - In a separate bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and chicken broth until fully homogenized. Pour this mixture over the apple and onion layer in the cooker.
04 - Nestle the seasoned pork chops on top of the apple-onion and sauce base. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours, until pork is tender and easily pierced with a fork.
05 - Approximately 20 minutes prior to serving, dissolve cornstarch in 2 tablespoons of cold water to create a slurry. Stir gently into the crockpot, cover, and allow sauce to thicken as cooking finishes.

# Additional Tips:

01 - For optimal texture, slice apples and onions evenly with a mandoline or sharp knife. Optional searing of pork chops for 1–2 minutes per side prior to slow cooking enhances flavor and color.
02 - Rest pork chops uncovered for 5 minutes after cooking to redistribute juices and enhance tenderness.
03 - Garnish with freshly chopped thyme or parsley just before serving to elevate aroma and presentation.
