Fried Uncrustables Twist (Printer-Friendly Version)

Crispy peanut butter and jelly treats with a golden fried coating and customizable toppings for any time snack.

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 2 Uncrustables sandwiches, thawed

→ Batter

02 - 1 cup pancake mix (e.g., Bisquick)
03 - 2 large eggs, room temperature
04 - 1 cup milk (2% or preferred variety)
05 - 1 ½ tablespoons vegetable oil

→ Frying and Toppings

06 - Vegetable oil for frying (enough for deep frying, approx. 2 cups)
07 - Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

# Steps to Follow:

01 - In a large mixing bowl, whisk together pancake mix, eggs, milk, and 1 ½ tablespoons oil until combined. Small lumps are acceptable.
02 - Pour remaining vegetable oil into a deep skillet or Dutch oven and heat over medium heat to 375–400°F. Confirm readiness by dropping water droplets; if they sizzle immediately, oil is ready.
03 - Insert a wooden skewer or fork into each Uncrustable. Fully submerge in the batter, coating both sides evenly.
04 - Carefully lower coated sandwiches into hot oil. Fry approximately 2 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
05 - Remove from oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve warm with optional toppings.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Do not fry frozen Uncrustables directly; allow them to thaw to prevent oil splatter. Let fried sandwiches cool slightly before serving to avoid burns.
