# What You'll Need:

01 - 2 tablespoons caster sugar
02 - 1.7 fl oz spiced Cognac or Cognac
03 - 0.85 fl oz fresh lemon juice
04 - 0.85 fl oz Cointreau
05 - 1 lemon wedge for garnishing

→ Spiced Cognac Infusion

06 - 4 cardamom pods, bruised
07 - 1 star anise
08 - 2 small slices fresh ginger
09 - 1 cinnamon stick
10 - 6.8 fl oz Cognac

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Combine cardamom, star anise, ginger, and cinnamon stick with Cognac in a container; allow to infuse for 30 to 45 minutes, sampling after 30 minutes to achieve desired flavor intensity.
02 - Rub the lemon wedge along the rim of a chilled coupe glass and dip the rim into caster sugar to create a sugared edge.
03 - In a cocktail shaker, add 1.7 fl oz of the infused Cognac, lemon juice, and Cointreau.
04 - Fill shaker with ice, then shake vigorously until well chilled.
05 - Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass and optionally garnish with a lemon twist or cinnamon stick before serving.
