Rice Krispie Brains Halloween (Printer-Friendly Version)

Sweet, no-bake Rice Krispie brains with marshmallows and a touch of pink for a festive Halloween snack.

# What You'll Need:

→ Fats

01 - 3 tbsp unsalted butter

→ Sweeteners

02 - 1 bag (10 oz) mini marshmallows

→ Cereals

03 - 5 cups Rice Krispies toasted rice cereal

→ Coloring (optional)

04 - pink food coloring

→ Preparation

05 - unsalted butter for hands, as needed

# Steps to Follow:

01 - In a large nonstick saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the unsalted butter, swirling occasionally to prevent browning.
02 - Add mini marshmallows to the melted butter, stirring continuously until fully melted into a smooth, glossy mixture without browning.
03 - If desired, add pink food coloring drop by drop, mixing thoroughly to achieve an even, lifelike color.
04 - Remove from heat, fold in Rice Krispies gently until fully coated with minimal cereal crushing.
05 - Butter hands generously. While mixture is warm but not hot, scoop portions and mold into oval shapes. Use fingers to form grooves resembling brain folds.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Shape the mixture while warm to ensure pliability; cooled mixture hardens and becomes difficult to mold.
02 - Store the finished treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days to retain chewiness.
